Asphalt Festival

The annual Asphalt Festival brings art to the streets - and thus to the people. The organizers describe their idea as a "folk festival of the arts, which wants to seduce and touch the inhabitants of the city with theater, dance, music, literature and fine arts".

The installation of several pianos in different subway stations is only a small part of the concept. Every year, when the summer sun heats the asphalt and the cultural offerings become smaller due to the holidays, the Asphalt Festival brings numerous events to the city.

Main venue is the festival center on the Ronsdorfer Straße in Dusseldorf-Flingern in the "Weltkunstzimmer" and the "Alte Farbwerke".

When the next Asphalt Festival comes to Duesseldorf and when which events start, you'll find at www.asphalt-festival.de

Tip: If you buy tickets in advance, you can use busses, trams, trains and subways throughout the VRR area for free on the day of the event!

*** UPDATE: The Asphalt Festival moved in 2020 due to the corona pandemic and will take place on Schwanenspiegel in city center. A maximum of 80 visitors - and a great program on a floating stage +++
